Description
Hi all! So up for sale is my 2000 Kawasaki KLR 650 Dual Sport. For those of you that know the bike or are 650 enthusiasts then you know what you're getting. Please read through the entire post before asking any questions.

So I am the 2nd owner of this bike. I've had it now for about 11 years. The original owner used to live out in the Inland Empire and only used it for off roading. He took a spill one day and salvaged the bike because of all the more expensive cosmetic damage, but overall the bike was fine. There's a small hairline crack in the gasket cover that tends to leak a bit of oil when it gets hot or after long rides. I've replaced the seals before and had it JB Welded but I usually just maintain to keep the oil topped off no biggie. You can see the scuffs and scratches and small dents in the gas tank from that, all cosmetic. When I purchased the bike I had a lot of things replaced that needed it or were damaged, including the side mirrors, the taillights, radiator fan, stater coil, clutch cable and the odometer assembly. So the bike currently reads 20,072, but in actuality the bike itself only has about 12,000 miles on it. This is just because I bought a used odometer assembly on eBay that already had mileage on it and replaced it with that. I honestly have not ridden the bike that much over the years, probably less than 1000 miles a year. But I've always maintained it, kept up with oil changes, tires, brakes, etc. I've put a ton of money into her the last decade but haven't given her the attention she deserves. All work has been performed by Al's Cycle Stop here in Echo Park.

The only thing I've really neglected is letting it sit too long. But for those who know you know this thing is a workhorse. So right now the battery is dead and it needs a new one. I did however just jump start it with my car today and she purrs no problem. I have a video of it jumped and running if you'd like me to send that to you. And obviously the seat could use reupholstering after 19 years of service. I think the best bet is to bring a truck or trailer and I can help you load her. Just want it to go to a good home. So either you can give her the TLC she needs and start hitting the road again or you could part it out if you want. Get in touch and we can figure it out. Comes with the luggage box mounted on back and I think I've got a battery tender for it and an extra clutch cable.
Pick up in Echo Park, Los Angeles only. Cash or Venmo/Paypal only, no payments. Thanks again!
